Malamute Howling Along With the Sirens at City Parade Goes Viral

An Alaskan Malamute named Sunka has delighted internet viewers with his howling performance at a street parade in his city.
The viral video, shared on TikTok in July, under the username @sunkathemalamute, shows the pup sitting down like a good boy, howling along with the sirens at the parade, enjoying every minute of it.
“Bringing his own siren to the neighborhood parade & stealing the show…” reads a caption shared with the heartwarming clip.
All dogs are vocal, some more than others, depending on species and personality, but for all of them, vocalizations are the most common way to express their needs and feelings.
While barking is a normal form of communication for dogs, if your pup has suddenly started barking more than usual for no apparent reason, you may want to double-check what may be going on in their life.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) says that excessive barking could be a sign of health issues, like ear problems.
If canines bark when you leave them alone, they may be experiencing distress when you are not present—or even separation anxiety in more extreme cases. They could also be barking out of boredom.
To stop your dog’s newly acquired excessive barking problem, you should make sure your pup has enough enrichment throughout the day to keep it busy and happy. However, if the barking continues even though you have established a good routine, you could check with a vet for any health issues.
The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.8 million views and more than 383,600 likes on the platform.
One user, Diana, commented: “Not him trying to match the sirens when they hit a different beat at the end, he’s def the main character.”
Cfishbunny posted: “When I worked EMS there was a dog that would always be out on walks when we would drive by with lights and sirens and he would howl.”
Queen easy wrote: “Watching this good boy doing a perfect job with his awoo was worth my last 1% battery love it.”
This Bish added: “Mine doesn’t do this when he hears sirens and I’m deeply disappointed.”
